A trip to Cool Runnings

Saturdays are our days for exploring the Cape but with no Plan A and Plan B and Plan C in place I was feeling a little uneasy. (so yes, I am rather pedantic about plans and lists and may have a slight OCD but hey I’m not alone and I’m sure at least half of the readers of this post had a grin on their face as if to say, yeah I know that feeling) Anyway, I decided to “jus w-wax” as Eryn would say and see where we landed up.

And where we landed up was Cool Runnings Toboggan Track. When Eryn saw what was in store for her, she tried her best to convince us that she would look after Camryn while we went! And so for Camryn’s safety I gently placed our mildly nervous little girl between my legs in the toboggan and before she could climb off we went up and up and up. After she realised that I wasn’t going to go at lightning speeds she started to relax and actually quite enjoyed the trip down. Because I had gone VERY slowly with her, I decided to try out Peter’s theory that the brake is only used at the end to stop the toboggan so that you can get off. Well I tried it but I obviously had a much faster toboggan than Peter because I used my brake at the first corner!

Peter read my mind as I was navigating the track because by the time I had got to the finish he had asked the manager if Camryn was allowed on. (the company website says only children from 3 allowed) The Manager said Peter could take him as long as he didn’t drive recklessly…

And we were right, Camryn absolutely loved it. He sat dead still, yes you read that correctly, he sat dead still all the way up and on the way down, clapped his hands and waved to the people as he whizzed past.

Up the boys go

Enjoying the ride

And then we had a few more rides…

Eryn going a little faster with her daddy

Cammy looking a little concerned about mom's driving!

Faster and faster they went

Peter teaching Eryn to lean with the corner!

And if it was up to Camryn we would probably still be there, he just kept going.

Come on Dad, lets go again, this way!

So all in all, a fun time was had by all.
