On Tuesday (29th June 2011) we ventured out to visit Noddy at the Artscape Theatre. With our snack packs packed (this is the secret to keeping Camryn still for more than a second) and our tickets in hand, we were ready!
We caught the bus from Tableview which earned some more brownie points for mom! The bus was pretty full which meant Camryn had to remain in his pram – not exactly what he had in mind but he tolerated it pretty well. Thanks to the anonymous man in the bus that entertained my son with the most amazing facial expressions, even I was amused. And to the lovely Safety officer who answered ALL Eryn’s questions and even carried her out the bus station and escorted us over to the theatre!
Arriving at the civic centre bus station a little later than planned had me slightly flustered but alas we made it just in time. Our friends that we met up with had saved us an awesome spot!
And the show began…Eryn enjoyed every minute of Noddy. Her continual questions (at the top of her voice) was evidence to the whole audience that she didn’t understand the entire show but it definitely caught her attention. On the other side of me was Camryn…and yes, our brave boy who is often labelled fearless was petrified of the Goblins! His whole body would freeze as the Goblins appeared, and slowly but surely as if he was trying to do it unnoticed, he would turn around and climb up me until his face was buried in the nap of my neck. After much talking and hugging, he calmed down and judging by the amount of time that he actually stood still, I guess he enjoyed it too!
After the show, there was no coaxing Eryn for a photo with Mr. Plod but Camryn allowed it, although you will see he is not all too happy about it (or it could be him wondering whether those Goblins were going to pounce on him)
A fun day was had by all!
