Special memories

Going through our photo’s I noticed that we have a few that don’t fit into a specific event but still memories that we are fond of.

Let’s start with our energetic little boy Camryn. He dances and sings his way into everybody’s hearts. As cute as he is, he has a very strong will which results in lots of tantrums and subsequent consequences but how can we be cross with him when he cuddles onto our chests and rests his head on our shoulder giving a gentle kiss on the neck to say sorry!

We joke that he is 18 months going on 18 years, because he does not have a fearful bone in his whole body. He has his mom climbing to the highest point of the jungle gym behind him, running into the sea to fetch him, and behind him as he freewheels down the hill on his pushbike. Oh yes, and jumping after him into the gym pool when he thought he might try swimming a lap. We know that God has got big plans for him and we are seeking His will and way to raise our little boy. Here are some photos:

Let the pictures tell the story:

Contemplating his next move

running away from the waves is great fun

just before he met with the wave and got himself soaked AGAIN

Thank goodness there is a time when he is more docile:

His "sisa" reading him a story

and when his "sisa" moved on, he carried on reading

And he went to sleep ...with the book

and when he wakes up, it's the first thing he asks for...sometimes

Check out his hairstyle!

cammy refuses all hats except this one! it say adventure bootcamp for women!

A family weekend

Ask Eryn what day it is and her answer is always “Fiday, it’s movie day” We have started a little traditional in our family whereby Friday nights, after bath and supper, we make a big christmas bed and watch a movie together.

Last Friday night was the first night that Camryn joined in, normally he is fast asleep by 07:30pm but he has taken to suprising us with some really long afternoon naps and Friday afternoon’s lasted 3 hours. As a result, he was still as the saying goes, bright eyed and bushy tailed after his bath and so he too was able to watch Rio with us (well about half of it at least)

Fandamily time watching Rio

Saturday morning took us out to Spier wine estate (thanks Aunt Petro for the recommendation). We spent our morning viewing the Cheetahs and Birds in the various rehabilitation camps, and then headed off through the most amazing rolling lawns to have a meal at the restaurant there. Peter, Eryn and myself enjoyed a delicious meal, while camryn swung on the swing… As the saying goes, he has a bird’s appetite! Well in this instance the birds actually ate more than him as they kept stealing the food off his plate.

Eryn asked "How do we go inside, mommy?"

We greeted the owls (gaggi's favourite bird)

Then we took a walk to the restaurant

Where the birds ate Camryn's food

While Camryn sat in this unique swing

And of course I couldn’t resist using the spectacular views as backgrounds for a few family photos:

And we ended off our weekend with a picnic on the dunes and a bit of 4x4ing in the soft sand (Peter replaced the bakkie’s tyres – need I say more…)

The dune that we attempted climbed (successfully by foot, not quite so successfully by vehicle)

And the new trick Camryn has learnt when his mom and dad won’t listen to his plea’s to take his jacket off:

He gets his sister to do it for him!

And she is ever so proud of how she has helped
